Tungsten alloys (such as nickel-tungsten, cobalt-tungsten, etc.) typically exhibit good wear resistance, high-temperature resistance, and corrosion resistance. The use of FJY series tungsten alloy brush plating technology to repair local damage on chrome-plated parts can eliminate or alleviate specific issues associated with chrome plating processes. Taking the example of  brush plating nickel-tungsten alloy (Ni-W) coating technology, its prominent features include:

Low hydrogen embrittlement sensitivity. The cathodic current efficiency of  brush plating nickel-tungsten alloy plating solution is over 90%. With the same thickness of the brush plating layer, the hydrogen evolution of brush plating nickel-tungsten alloy is reduced by over 15 times compared to the brush plating chrome process.

Good environmental compatibility. When repairing damaged chrome-plated parts using brush plating technology, using nickel-tungsten alloy as a replacement for chrome, a wear-resistant surface layer can eliminate the safety and pollution issues associated with Cr6+ chrome plating processes.

Good high-temperature hardness retention characteristics. It is believed that the hardness of nickel-tungsten alloy plating reaches 1000Hv in high-temperature environments (this value needs further confirmation). In contrast, the hardness of hard chrome plating decreases with increasing temperature. Test results indicate that when the temperature exceeds 600°C, the hardness of hard chrome plating gradually decreases (below 400Hv).

Slight tendency for localized corrosion. In common corrosive environments, the self-corrosion potential of nickel-tungsten alloy is close to that of steel materials. Although it is still a cathodic plating layer, it is less prone to subsurface corrosion compared to chrome plating.

In summary, brush plating nickel-tungsten alloy technology is a suitable alternative for chrome replacement and surface enhancement treatment.

Currently, our company's brush plating nickel-tungsten alloy can be used in the following industries:

Chrome surface repair for hydraulic cylinders

Repair of shaft wear

Surface modification of metal to enhance hardness and wear resistance
